‘Aruna will live because of hospital staff’s love’

Aruna Shanbaug has been in persistent vegetative state in KEM Hospital for the last 37 years, depending entirely on her former colleagues in the nursing department. Not surprisingly, the apex court had devoted over two pages in its 100-plus page verdict to the dedication and care the KEM’s nurses provided to her.

A six-country gender equality survey has found that 86% of Indian men believe that changing diapers, giving kids a bath and feeding them, is a woman’s job.

Roughly 80% Indian men say they should have the final word about decisions in the house.
